As an electrical retailer with a lot to contend with on the business front, I left off blogging for a while because, quite frankly, over the past few months, it’s been touch and go whether we would survive. I was very, very sad to see that Ivan Jones, the man who started the White Box independent retail business in Nottingham and wrote his diary about it in Get Connected Magazine didn’t make it. read more...

It’s good to hear from you again, Mr Fairisle, after all this time. I seem to remember the last exchange between us was a bit spiky, and I’m very glad to hear that you’re being properly looked after by your suppliers.
If you think it’s been tough for UK retailers, spare a thought for us global manufacturers who have had to contend with the international situation, exchange rates, and all the pressures of having to answer to an ultimate boss who may see the UK as just another set of figures on his global markets stats.
